Why the Chamber?  More importantly..... Why the Kirkwood–Des Peres Area Chamber?

Have you heard that old adage: There is only 24 hours in a day? I know we all wake up in the morning hoping that just today I need 25 hours or maybe even 26 because of all the things I have committed myself to. As you can imagine, each night when I crawl into bed I realize that I get the same ol' 24 hours that I had the day before. Why am I bringing this up, you ask? As a business woman, wife, mother, friend, exercise enthusiast, maid, chef, etc.; it becomes a challenge to fit in all the things we want into a day. Time is a precious commodity! Ok, I will try not to talk financial lingo during my few minutes of fame in the newsletter.

The Chamber as it is known, is the place to network and connect with other local business owners. Where we spend our marketing dollars or networking minutes each day DOES matter. The individuals in the Kirkwood-Des Peres Area Chamber are some of the finest quality people with the highest ethical standards I have ever met.

Why should we care? I (and a lot of other business people) spend a lot of time in Kirkwood giving business, doing business, and getting business. It is a wonderful community and getting better all the time. The Chamber is an integral part of each city's community growth and reputation. We have been visited by many members from other Chambers in the area. Why do you think they come to visit ours when they are a member elsewhere? Because we have a great reputation for having high quality members, wonderful chamber staff that is top notch and constantly coming up with fresh ideas that truly keep us at the leading edge. I have given a lot of business to individuals in our Chamber and have never been embarrassed. I have also made a couple of very close friendships that I would not have known otherwise.

One of my old running coaches used to tell me, "You become who you hang with." I have thought of that often as I have grown in my personal life and business life. Who am I hanging around with? Do they bring me up? Time is precious and I choose to spend that very limited commodity with individuals that ask more out of me and help me become the woman and business leader of tomorrow of whom I can be proud.
