The Kirkwood Historical Society
The Kirkwood Historical Society was founded in 1961. The Society,
through its Board of Directors and Membership, seeks to discover,
collect and preserve the history of Kirkwood and surrounding
areas.
The Society promotes educational programs, exhibits and special
events and provides for the preservation of Mudd's Grove. New members are always
welcome.
Tours, Weddings, Receptions, Meetings, Private Parties,
Membership
Mudd's Grove is open to the public for guided tours at a nominal
cost. The house and garden are also available on a limited basis for
weddings, receptions, meetings and private parties. Mudd's Grove is
handicapped accessible.

The Library
Named for the late Representative, Harlan A. Gould, the library
contains approximately 190 volumes including subject matter such as
Kirkwood history, railroads, and maps and books by Kirkwood authors. A vertical file is maintained with newspaper
clippings and oral histories.
